Fall is here, and we are learning so much in second grade at Brown Station!  We had a great time on our field trip at Croydon Creek Nature Center.  We learned about soil by looking at the living and nonliving things in soil.  We also went on a nature walk where we saw many natural elements, like soil, rocks, and water!  In science we have begun to learn about Earth's landforms, including mountains, valleys, plains, canyons, and more.  Soon we will find out about bodies of water such as oceans, lakes, rivers, and gulfs.  In social studies we are talking about democracy and leadership.  We will have a lot to talk about as the Presidential election gets closer!  In writing we are publishing our personal narratives.  Finally, in reading we are studying informational text and identifying the main idea.

Our Fall Parade and Party is this Friday.  Look for information about these festivities in your child's folder.  Please talk to your child's teacher if you would like to help out!

Thank you!
